The Role
AIRMO is looking for a pragmatic, hands-on Head of Finance to own financial operations, reporting, and financial strategy as we scale toward satellite deployment and Series A. You will ensure financial discipline, transparency, and long-term sustainability while enabling rapid growth.
You’ll work closely with the CEO and leadership team, acting as the financial backbone of the company and ensuring we always know where we stand and what’s coming next.
Your responsibilities in AIRMO
Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Financial planning, budgeting, cash management, and runway control
- Monthly and quarterly financial reporting for management, investors, and funding bodies
- Oversight of accounting and coordination with external accountants and payroll providers
- Grant financial management, cost tracking, and audit-ready documentation
- Support of fundraising processes, due diligence, and investor communications
- Scenario planning and early identification of financial risks
- Maintaining clean financial structures, data room, and investor-ready models
- Ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Building lightweight, scalable financial processes that support fast execution
What you should bring to AIRMO
The ideal candidate will have:
- Degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, accounting, or business
- 5+ years of experience in finance roles, ideally in startups, scale-ups, or VC-backed companies
- Strong understanding of startup finance, fundraising, and grant-funded projects
- Hands-on experience with accounting, financial modeling, and reporting
- Ability to communicate clearly with founders, investors, auditors, and public funders
- Strong ownership mentality and comfort operating with limited structure
- High attention to detail combined with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
- Passion for climate-tech, space, or deep-tech innovation
- Fluency in English and German
