About AIRMO

AIRMO is a European climate-tech company using space and airborne technologies to monitor greenhouse gas emissions globally. Our instruments — combining LiDAR and hyperspectral imaging — detect and quantify methane and CO₂ emissions from industrial sites, pipelines, and national infrastructure.

We’re building a global monitoring system from air to space, helping energy companies, governments, and investors take real action on climate impact.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a Working Student – Technical Support to assist our engineering and operations teams with a diverse range of hands-on and analytical tasks. This position is ideal for a student eager to gain practical experience in climate-tech hardware, prototyping, and system integration while supporting day-to-day technical operations.

Your Responsibilities in AIRMO

  • Support software development and automation using Python and JavaScript.
  • Assist with hardware prototyping and assembly, including 3D printing, soldering, and component integration.
  • Conduct hardware and sensor testing, data collection, and measurement verification.
  • Support calibration, maintenance, and documentation of lab and field equipment.
  • Contribute to operational planning — coordinating technical logistics, preparing equipment for deployment, and supporting test campaigns.
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to ensure smooth operation of AIRMO’s airborne and spaceborne instrumentation systems.

What you should bring to AIRMO

  • Currently enrolled in a technical or scientific degree program (e.g., engineering, physics, computer science, or similar).
  • Foundational programming skills in Python, C and/or JavaScript.
  • Practical experience or strong interest in hardware prototyping, electronics, or mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing, soldering, or basic lab instrumentation is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Enthusiastic about climate-tech, remote sensing, and hardware innovation.

What We Offer

  • Hands-on experience in cutting-edge climate-tech hardware development.
  • Opportunity to work across software, hardware, and operations.
  • Supportive and flexible work environment aligned with your academic schedule.
  • Mentorship from experts in aerospace, remote sensing, and environmental technology.
